Getting Started

How do I create an account?

You can create a free account by visiting app.undercast.ai/login. New accounts receive 1,000 free credits to get started. Simply sign up with your email address and you'll be ready to create your first metric in minutes.

What are credits and how do they work?

Credits are consumed when you perform actions in the platform. Different actions cost different amounts: Metric Creation (5 credits), Data Import (10 credits), API Calls (1 credit each), and Metric Execution varies by frequency (1-10 credits depending on whether it's batch or real-time). What data sources can I connect?

UndercastAI supports 100+ data sources including Snowflake, BigQuery, DuckDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, and many more. We also support importing metrics directly from GitHub repositories. Check our documentation for the complete list.

What is "Metrics as Code"?

Metrics as Code is a development workflow where metrics are defined, versioned, and managed in code (typically YAML files) stored in your GitHub repository. This enables version control, code reviews, CI/CD integration, and collaboration just like any other code in your codebase.

How does the AI-powered metric builder work?

Our AI assistant uses natural language processing to understand your metric requirements. Simply describe what you want to measure in plain English, and the AI will generate the SQL query, cube definition, and metric configuration. You can then review, edit, and deploy the metric.

Can I schedule metric executions?

Yes! You can schedule metrics to run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. Near real-time execution (every 5-15 minutes) is also available. The cost varies by frequency: batch processing (weekly/monthly) costs 1 credit, daily costs 2 credits, hourly costs 5 credits, and near real-time costs 10 credits per execution.

What is the Visual Cube Builder?

The Visual Cube Builder is a drag-and-drop interface for creating dimensional data models. It allows you to define dimensions, measures, and hierarchies visually without writing SQL, making it easy for non-technical users to create complex analytical metrics.

Pricing & Billing

What's included in the free tier?

The free Starter plan includes 1,000 credits per month, access to all core features, up to 3 data source connections, and community support. This is perfect for trying out the platform and small projects.

Do credits roll over to the next month?

Credits do not roll over month-to-month. However, unused credits from annual plans are available for the entire year. Enterprise customers can negotiate custom credit rollover policies as part of their contract.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and we'll prorate any charges. Annual plans can be upgraded mid-cycle with prorated billing.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and ACH transfers for annual plans. Enterprise customers can also pay via wire transfer or purchase orders.

Are there volume discounts?

Yes! Enterprise customers receive volume discounts of up to 40% off on credit consumption. Contact our sales team at sales@undercast.ai to discuss custom pricing for high-volume usage.

Technical Questions

How do I integrate UndercastAI with my CI/CD pipeline?

You can integrate UndercastAI with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or any CI/CD tool. Metrics defined as code in your repository can be automatically validated, tested, and deployed. See our CI/CD documentation for detailed guides.

What security measures are in place?

We're SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR and HIPAA compliant. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We support SSO, RBAC, and audit logging. Enterprise customers can also use dedicated infrastructure and private cloud deployments.

Can I export my metrics and data?

Yes, you can export all your metrics, definitions, and historical data at any time. We support exports in JSON, YAML, CSV, and SQL formats. Enterprise customers have access to bulk export APIs.

What's the API rate limit?

Rate limits vary by plan: Starter (100 requests/minute), Professional (500 requests/minute), Business (2,000 requests/minute), and Enterprise (custom limits). See our API documentation for details.
